Position Overview
We’re looking for a driven and experienced Traveling Electrical Superintendent to oversee multifamily electrical construction projects across Texas and beyond. In this role, you'll be the boots-on-the-ground leader, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to our quality standards. You’ll supervise crews, coordinate schedules, solve problems in real time, and be the key point of contact for everything happening on site.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Lead all on-site electrical operations for multifamily projects, ensuring work is completed to spec, on schedule, and in full compliance with safety and code requirements.
Team Supervision: Direct field teams, delegate tasks, offer guidance, and maintain a strong safety culture. Provide on-the-job mentorship to support team growth and performance.
Scheduling & Coordination: Work closely with project managers and other trades to maintain project timelines and avoid delays or conflicts.
Quality Control: Conduct regular site walkthroughs to verify that work meets Hays standards, client expectations, and industry regulations.
Safety Management: Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols. Lead toolbox talks, conduct job hazard assessments, and ensure a clean, hazard-free job site.
Materials & Tools Oversight: Monitor tool and material needs, coordinate deliveries, and minimize downtime caused by shortages or equipment issues.
Budget Awareness: Track labor and material costs and flag any potential overruns early. Partner with PMs to keep financials in check without cutting corners.
Client Communication: Represent Hays on-site. Keep clients and stakeholders informed with updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Troubleshooting: Tackle unforeseen issues head-on—from design clarifications to resource gaps—ensuring smooth progress on every front.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain daily logs, site reports, and field documentation to ensure accurate tracking and accountability.
Project Close-Out: Assist with final walkthroughs, punch lists, and handoff documents. Ensure all electrical work is ready for inspection and turnover.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
5+ years of field leadership experience on commercial or multifamily projects
OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid preferred
Journeyman or Master Electrician license (preferred)
Willingness and ability to travel regularly to various job sites
Key Skills
Strong leadership and crew management
Solid understanding of NEC, local codes, and OSHA regulations
Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specs
Proficiency with construction software such as Procore, Buildertrend, or MS Project
Clear communicator with a focus on collaboration and accountability
Quick problem-solver under pressure
