Position Summary
The Buyer is responsible for supporting the organization's supply chain and procurement objectives through the sourcing, purchasing, and management of materials, equipment, and services. This role partners with project teams, operations, accounting, and suppliers to ensure materials are procured efficiently, delivered on time, and aligned with project requirements and company standards. Buyers are expected to balance cost, quality, service, and risk while developing strong supplier relationships and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
 

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and process purchase orders for standard materials, tools, equipment, and consumables in accordance with project requirements and company procedures.

· Coordinate material deliveries with vendors, warehouses, fabrications teams, and project field

personnel.

· Maintain accurate purchasing records, order tracking logs, pricing documentation, and vendor communications. 

Verify pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules against project specifications and procurement

requests.

· Source materials and obtain supplier quotations to support project and operational requirements.

· Issue and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) as

required.

· Evaluate supplier quotations and support bid analysis and award recommendations.

· Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms commensurate with experience and

assigned responsibilities.

· Collaborate with project teams to ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and

operational priorities.

· Resolve order discrepancies, shortages, invoice issues, and delivery challenges with suppliers

and internal stakeholders.

· Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain efficiencies.

· Support inventory replenishment and monitor commonly used stock materials.

· Resolve order discrepancies, shortages, and delivery issues with supplier support.

· Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely procurement aligned with project schedules.

· Maintain compliance with company purchasing policies and approval workflows.

· Support supplier relationships and day-to-day performance.

· Develop and maintain records and files for effective procurement operations.

· Continuously expand knowledge of electric materials, manufacturer product lines, market

conditions, and construction procurement practices.

 

Qualifications & Skills

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

· 5+ years of purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, construction, industrial distribution, warehouse.

Equivalent combination of education, training and relevant procurement experience will be

considered.

· Solid understanding of purchasing processes, order management, inventory, and construction

operations.

· Demonstrated problem solving skills.

· Strong organizational and administrative skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability for results.

· Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic and rapidly growing organization.

· Ability to learn and apply new information quickly.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing or ERP systems.

· Attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to develop productive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
