As a Fire Alarm Foreman, you will manage fire alarm installation crews on commercial and multi-family construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all fire alarm systems are installed to NFPA standards and AHJ requirements, completed on schedule, and meet project specifications. The role requires hands-on expertise, leadership, and a proactive approach to jobsite safety and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise fire alarm installation crews across active projects
Interpret fire alarm drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
Ensure full compliance with local, state, and national codes (NFPA 72, NEC, AHJ requirements)
Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, and Inspectors for timely inspections and approvals
Maintain jobsite documentation including redlines, daily logs, and time sheets
Train and mentor apprentices and junior technicians
Maintain project timelines and contribute to 3-week look-aheads with PMs
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to installation, devices, or programming
Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and safety gear
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial fire alarm installation
Experience with brands such as Notifier, EST, Silent Knight, or Siemens is preferred
State of Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) required
Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local building codes
Prior experience leading a fire alarm crew or acting as Lead Technician/Foreman
Comfortable reading blueprints and system risers
Proficient in documentation, daily reporting, and change order tracking
Procore experience is a plus
Must be willing to travel to other Texas cities or out-of-state if needed
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
