Position Summary
We are seeking an IT Manager to own the day-to-day and medium-term operational health of all front-end IT services. This role is responsible for ensuring that IT services supporting employees including helpdesk, onboarding, offboarding, and asset management. operate consistently, efficiently, and with forward planning. The IT Manager acts as the operational counterpart to backend infrastructure teams, owning how services function rather than how systems are engineered. This role does not design infrastructure, networks, or platforms. Instead, it ensures that front-end IT operations are predictable, measurable, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
Own all employee-facing IT services and workflows, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery and acting as the primary escalation point for end-user issues while translating backend capabilities into reliable front-end solutions
Lead and manage front-end IT functions, including Helpdesk, Onboarding/Offboarding, and IT Asset Management, establishing clear ownership, accountability, and operational standards
Oversee helpdesk and support operations by ensuring SLA adherence, response times, and resolution quality, while identifying trends, recurring issues, and coordinating with backend teams for infrastructure-related escalations
Own the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding experience, ensuring timely delivery of hardware, access, and tools, while maintaining accurate asset lifecycle management including inventory, assignment, recovery, and refresh compliance
Maintain visibility into IT operations through short- and long-term planning, anticipating scaling needs, and producing reporting on support performance, onboarding efficiency, and asset utilization to provide actionable insights to leadership
Ensure front-end IT operations follow established processes, standards, and policies while coordinating with infrastructure, security, and business technology teams, escalating systemic issues and ensuring consistent communication and execution of changes
Operate within a defined IT model where the IT Director owns strategy and architecture, infrastructure teams manage backend systems, and IT Manager owns front-end service delivery, ensuring issues are resolved through structured processes rather than reactive efforts
Qualifications & Skills
Required
• 5+ years of IT operations or IT service management experience
• Experience managing teams responsible for helpdesk and end-user IT services
• Strong understanding of IT service delivery, Onboarding and offboarding workflows, and Hardware and asset management
• Experience coordinating across multiple IT disciplines
• Ability to operate tactically while planning ahead
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Understand how to scale up and down rapidly
Preferred
• Experience supporting growing organizations
• Familiarity with ITSM practices and service metrics
• Experience managing IT vendors or service providers
• Background working alongside infrastructure or architecture teams
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Sedentary: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required remain a stationary position over 75% of the time, constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery which can include a copy machine or printer, frequently communicates with internal and external and must be able to exchange accurate information. The employee is occasionally required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and handle up to 20 pounds (files or office supplies). Must be able to detect, determine, distinguish, inspect, assess, and adjust focus. Management reserves the right to change this position description at any time according to business needs.
