This is a hands-on execution role and a development track toward Senior Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
Maintain and update the project risk register under direction of the Senior Project Manager, including tracking status, mitigation actions, and owners for identified risks.
Monitor field, procurement, and schedule activity for emerging risks (delays, supply chain, subcontractor performance, interconnection issues) and report them promptly to the Senior Project Manager.
Support risk review meetings by preparing data, updates, and documentation.
Track and follow up on assigned risk mitigation action items to closure.
Change Management
Prepare, log, and track change order documentation (scope description, pricing backup, schedule impact) for review and approval by the Senior Project Manager.
Maintain the project change log, ensuring accurate status (submitted, pending, approved, rejected) and running totals.
Draft notice letters and change requests per contract requirements, for Senior Project Manager review prior to submission.
Coordinate with field leadership and subcontractors to gather backup documentation supporting change orders and claims.
Contract & Deliverable Management

Follow up with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure deliverables are submitted on time; escalate delays to the Senior Project Manager.
Assist in reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders for scope, schedule, and compliance alignment with the prime contract.
Support subcontractor billing/pay application review and compliance documentation (insurance, lien waivers, etc.).
Reporting
Prepare regular (weekly/monthly) project status report inputs for review by the Senior Project Manager prior to distribution.
Maintain schedule, cost, and milestone tracking data in project management systems.
Support preparation of client/owner-facing reports and internal leadership dashboards.
Assist with cost-to-complete and forecast data gathering in coordination with project controls/accounting.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with field leadership (Area/Senior/Assistant Superintendents, Foremen) to align project execution with schedule, budget, and contractual requirements.
Liaise with procurement, engineering, and commissioning teams to track material and equipment deliveries against project milestones.
Support the Senior Project Manager in coordination with the Electrical Manager on technical scope and procurement issues, and with the Project Executive on client/owner matters as directed.
Team Support
Supervise and mentor Project Engineers and Project Coordinators assigned to the project.
Review and quality-check subordinate work products (submittal logs, RFIs, tracking sheets) before submission to the Senior Project Manager.
