Position Overview
The Superintendent (SU) is responsible for leading day-to-day field operations on assigned projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of electrical scopes. The SU manages project manpower, enforces company standards, and drives schedule adherence while supporting QA/QC, labor productivity, and safety goals. This role acts as the key point of accountability on the jobsite, coordinating with Foremen, Project Management, and the General Superintendent to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in alignment with Hays Electrical’s KPIs, WIGs, and cultural expectations.

The Superintendent (SU) is responsible for leading day-to-day field operations on assigned projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of electrical scopes. The SU manages project manpower, enforces company standards, and drives schedule adherence while supporting QA/QC, labor productivity, and safety goals. This role acts as the key point of accountability on the jobsite, coordinating with Foremen, Project Management, and the General Superintendent to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in alignment with Hays Electrical’s KPIs, WIGs, and cultural expectations.
Leadership & Oversight
- Manage and supervise Foremen, Journeymen, and Apprentices on assigned projects.
- Enforce accountability for labor performance, quality, and safety.
- Provide daily coaching, mentorship, and feedback to Foremen and crews.
- Support onboarding of new field personnel and ensure integration into project expectations and Hays Ways
- Oversee day-to-day field installation of electrical systems per drawings, NEC, project specifications, and Best Practices
- Ensure labor plans, WIP trackers, and production schedules are followed.
- Utilize Lookahead, Production Trackers, trail Blazers and checklist to ensure as successful project
- Coordinate with PMs, GS, and Foremen to develop and maintain lookahead schedules.
- Manage project startup activities, daily execution, and closeout deliverables.
- Ensure accurate documentation in Procore (observations, QA/QC, daily logs) and Bluebeam (markups).
- Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Enforce Hays Electrical safety policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Monitor installations for compliance with QA/QC requirements, contract specifications, and code.
- Address deficiencies immediately to reduce rework and ensure first-pass quality.
- Track daily labor hours and production against budget.
- Support accurate WIP reporting by validating field progress.
- Identify risks impacting budget or schedule and escalate issues to GS and PM.
- Assist GS and PM in formulating recovery plans when projects fall behind.
- Serve as the primary jobsite leader and point of contact for field teams.
- Communicate daily with Foremen, GS, and PM regarding progress, risks, and manpower needs.
- Represent Hays Electrical with professionalism in interactions with GCs, inspectors, and trade partners.
- Promote Hays core values: Excellence, Safety, Drive, Communication, Client Focus.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple crews and scopes.
- Deep technical knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and sequencing.
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and field production tracking tools.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Strong communication skills with both field teams and external partners (General Contractor)
- Ability to make decisions quickly under pressure while maintaining safety and quality at the forefront
- 5+ years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role (Foreman or higher).
- Proven track record managing crews on multifamily or commercial projects ($2M+ electrical scope).
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
- Demonstrated experience with labor tracking, QA/QC processes, and Production reporting.
- Willingness to work extended hours or travel as project needs require.

- Labor Lookaheads produced every 2 weeks with 90% accuracy
- Crew efficiency aligned with production goals and Lookaheads
- 92% milestones completed as planned.
- On-time completion of assigned project phases.
- 92%+ QA/QC compliance rate on Superintendent field audits.
- Reduction of repeat deficiencies and punch-list items.
- Zero tolerance for unsafe acts; enforce daily compliance.
